Maple Hill Farm is focused on providing quality product from animals that have lived a quality life. We believe that every person should know where their food comes from - see how it is raised, learn why it is raised that way, meet the people who raise your food, and understand the value of small family farms.
Our Beginning
Our story begins in 2006 when we saw the farm go up for sale that we always dreamed of owning. We knew we didn’t want to milk large animals but we knew we wanted to make it a fully functioning farm. So our oldest son at the time was in FFA and needed a fair project. He decided on a lamb. So off we went to buy two lambs for his project. Well several hundred sheep later, here we are a sheep dairy with a full milking parlor. We have never looked back and now we are home to grass fed beef, free range chickens, pastured pigs, and a flock of sheep. We raise our animals with the utmost care and hope that we are providing a quality product from animals that have lived a quality life. We welcome groups, families, and just the curious consumer to our farm for as behind the scenes peek at the job that we love. Know your farmer, know your food.
"From two tiny lambs to milking a large flock of ewes, what started as something small for the Michielson family became the blueprint for their mission to help others learn about farming and food."

Our dairy sheep are the main animals on our farm in Wisconsin. We milk them twice a day and some of that valuable milk is put into my handmade sheep milk soap and lotion. I make all my products in small batches and use quality ingredients - no artificial fragrances or dyes. Essential oils and botanically infused oils for scent are a must for my own sensitive skin. And did you know that the extra fats, proteins, vitamins, and minerals in sheep milk are great for your skin health!
